Surprising
This morning we walked a different way and the doggie surprised me by being transformed. He pulled like nothing else! This made me think that perhaps its just situation-based, what he's learned, he know how to walk on the places I've told him how to walk, but not in new places.
So from now on I will try to go different / surprising ways every day and see if I can maintain a responsive doggie in the end.
His teeth must be itching again or something because he's been pulling out all his previously discarded chewing toys (even part of one that he got when he first got here...).
If he finishes them I'll buy him a new one, not before.

Poop and people
The doggie has found the joy of rolling in cat poop, which more often than not results in a shower before snacks. He hates shower and loves snacks so I think thats a fair punishment.
We walked together with Gary this afternoon in the popular 3 km track nearby.. For some reason Fajsty was a little but out of control. Some periods he was great but sometimes just pulling and pulling as if he was the front of an old train..
I don't know if this was because he was happy we were all together or if it has a different reason.
His meeting people nicely training is going along fine, we can now walk past people without him bursting towards them and also he can sit and watch people walk by, sometimes needing a little reminder...
Though some of that training got spoilt today, a gentleman came forwards (looking very much like he's going to go past so) we sit Fajsty down and the man says: "I also have a spaniel" Okay we said and concentrated on our dog again, and then all of a sudden the gentleman sits (bends) down and then we cant tell F he cant go say hi...
So, It was a good walk with a very energetic puppy and a few good practice occasions where he behaved really well.

The Training Continues
So we keep on practicing what we have learned.
In the mornings we walk on the field on the long-rope, in the afternoons we practice dont pull and in the evenings we also practice not to pull along with having him loose without the long-rope (to see if all the practice has any effect.... )
The don't pull routine is working, he's starting to realize that if he tries to go forward too hard, he'll have to go backwards. Something he isn't too happy about. So the pulling has more or less stopped unless he sees something very interesting.
When I call him (when loose) and he is in front of me he comes back like a lightning but when he's behind he takes his time to start coming but once he's on his way he comes fast.
One difference from before we started this is that now he does not run past me, he runs to me. So if needed I can put the lead on.
We have pretty much figured that he's to be on the left side, although on the field its not so important (unless he's on the lead on the field) .
Tomorrow we might try walking somewhere new, see if the training works also there.

So today we went on a walk this morning around 8, and I didnt have to train any of the above because he was lovely the whole way round.
And then another walk at around 14:30 (until 16:10) where we practiced the backwards routine and met an old lady to practice "sit down and love people, dont attack them with your loving". It worked when she walked past and also when she stopped, but then before I had time to say anything she addressed him saying how good he was and then of course he wanted to bolt to her, but I reminded him about what we were doing and he said something along the lines of "ok then" and sat down again and got a snack ..
After the old lady we met a power walker (swish, swosh, swish, swosh) I sat him down again and it went remarkably well. He wanted to go say hi, but he didn't. Few more snacks and some love.
In a thinner area we met two people with a baby carriage, he sat down until they were close and then he wanted to go say hi, so he stood up on 2 legs and tried to get to them ... We met those again on a broader road and then he sat down while they passed. Not as interested to go say hi.
I had to put him on mega-short lead 2 times, both involving another dog ahead. I noted that he doesn't really start pulling until there's less than 30 meters in between..
So all in all I am quite pleased. The meeting other dogs behaviour could definitely improve, but thats what the course starting on Sunday is for.

- Walk (on a lead) rules
- Left side!
- Walk backwards when he's pulling, repeat if necessary, reward when he gets the idea and goes nicely (at least a few steps) on left side.
- Never reach anything he darts towards
- With intense pulling or no time for the walking backwards trick, Super short lead until relaxed.
- Say Hello Nicely
- Sit down, no human closer than 2 meters to start with.
- No petting!
- Reward when sitting and continues to sit.
- Linetraining (ie clothesline or long rope)
- Kom Hit (come to us), in all situations.
- When sniffing
- When peeking (not when peeing)
- When just walking
- If he doesnt come, drag him to you and reward in any way when there.

Today we are going to get our first private lesson. Me and F. We're gonna see if we can learn to stop jumping onto people and be a little bit quicker to come back when being called.
If there's time we will also train how to walk nicely beside me.
The idea I have is to say "här" (here) and then he'll walk near until releasing command; "varsågod" (you're welcome.. ) .
Another thing we need to practice (but probably wont practice today) is not to bolt towards other people or dogs. And this is important as some people actually get scared.
I think its almost time for his claws to be cut again today, or maybe it's next week. I will have to check up on that.
I did the website for the dogtrainer (before I met her) because I thought her one was to crappy........ But she was happy for it.. It will probably end up on ronjashundgora.se or .com ... can never remember.. Both exist but only one is updated.
At the moment its on www.annasuss.com/ronja/ but not for too long I think.

Life
Fajsty and gary walked to the city to meet me, but I wasnt there until later, I had gotten the time wrong.
When I came home and wee met up I gave F a bath with a new Peachy shampoo and I have never seen so much dirt come off him (and yet I showered him quite recently with the old shampoo - 1/1) . So I think I have bought some miracle shampoo.
As I said I have some video of puppy, our messed up show and his funny behaviour coming up.
Tomorrow I will sort that out. I will also try to take some good photos to put on the website to show off.
Contacted a lady about private and group doggy-training, I am not sure she got my e-mail so I will send it again. If she doesnt reply then I must have said something bad (it happens a lot).
The last few days have been rainy and miserable, hence no photos or updates. I am telling myself that tomorrow will be better. It might not be, but right now I pretend it will be. (Fact is, it wont be for at least 2 weeks).

New year
No resolutions. Fajsty thinks that gary's bath is interesting. When he himself is having a shower he runs for it. I was tempted to put him in to see what he did. But i figured i'd have to run a whole new bath for gary then.
Fajsty got a lot of presents this christmas. Plastic chewy bones, edible bones, soft toys, different types of candy. From me he got a new collar, i don't think he appreciated that particular gift but it's good to have one that can't be made too small.
